Spring 2008...
Depending on our location, we may have already taken a peek under the winter cover and whispered "how ya doin" to the boat or there may be so much snow on the ground that based on the last visual contact we have only a general idea where the boat is.
But wherever you are and whenever your 2008 boating season commences, it will be great day to splash the boat and get offshore once again.
During the off season we here at the Brite Group have been busy developing new solutions to better maintain our boats. The development of one new product has been a quest of mine for many years - in fact since fiberglass boats became a part of my life. The quest was to create a product that would end the oxidation process, keeping our gelcoat rich with color and shining like new. Not like the "band aids" we have had to rely on - you know the drill - wet-sanding, sealing and waxing that at best had a three month lifespan before the gelcoat would return to its dull and certainly frustrating appearance. Our new product would leave a finish on our boats that makes us proud when we walk towards the boat and makes us turn back for another look as we leave the dock. Not to mention the "boat is looking good" comments from our friends.
I knew I wasn't alone in my desire for a "fix". -In fact, at the many boat shows that we exhibited, I made a point of asking EVERY fellow boater - "if we could make one product for you - what would it be"? Except for a few, the # 1 request was for a product to preserve the color and shine of our gelcoat.
Well, I am happy to say that we have (in field testing) an easily applied coating that will preserve our gelcoat forever. I know that's a bold statement, but it's true. Sure, you'll have to reapply the coating every couple years (which is easier than applying a coat of wax), but, by doing this, our boats will continue to look their absolute best - forever. And, it also works on aluminum. We are testing the coating for durability underwater, too.
The field testing should be complete in September. I will keep you all posted on the results.
The same product has been slightly modified to be applied to teak. For any of us who still have teak decks, trim or swim platforms, you know that when our teak is clean and freshly oiled or coated with one of the many topical protectants, it looks great - BUT - like our gelcoat, the great look doesn't last. Our new coating will keep teak looking beautiful - once again, forever.
I can say what I say about this new coating because I am involved in every aspect of the testing AND it will only get a Boat Brite label if it is perfect. The same applies for all of our Boat Brite products, because the last thing I want is for you to be unhappy with the performance of any of the Boat Brite products. And if for some reason you are not happy with any of our products, call me direct - my cell phone number is posted on every Boat Brite label. And, I always like to hear the good stories too and if you have any thoughts on a new formula we should develop - let us know.
At the Brite Group are all boaters and we (like you) feel the pinch at the pump and the store - and practically everywhere we go. We'd like to help keep your boat maintenance costs down. On the Home Page of our website is a link to the "Captain's Club". Simply enter a few lines of information and immediately enjoy a discount on every Boat Brite product. If you say it's okay, we would like to offer you pricing specials & other special offers on our Boat Brite products, along with other special news, via email letters. Hope you will join us.
Until next time....Happy Boating
Captain John
